There are multiple ways to create and submit a video assignment on a mac:

Method 1: Canvas Media Recording
Step 1. In your Canvas course please find the assignment you need to do the audio recording for. (You find it under 'Assignments' or 'Modules')
Step 2. Once you click in to the assignment click 'Start Assignment'
Step 3. On the mini menu click 'Media'
Step 4. Click the button labeled 'Record / Upload Media'
Step 5. If you get prompted by a pop up to allow 'fpeusa.instructure.com' to use your camera and microphone select 'Allow'
Step 6. Make sure the correct webcam and mic are selected; you can do that by clicking the buttons labeled 'Mic' and 'Webcam' and seeing which option is checked:
Step 7. Once you are satisfied with your settings click 'Start Recording'
Step 8. When you are done with your recording click 'Finish'
Step 9. Name the file to your liking and then scroll down on the media recording box and click 'Save Media'
Step 10. Now click 'Submit Assignment'
Step 11. You have now submitted your media recording!
Method 2: Quicktime Player(Make sure your Computer has webcam enabled)
Step 1. Go to Finder
Step 2. On the left hand side of the Finder menu click 'Applications'
Step 3. Find the Application named QuickTime Player and click in to it
Step 4. Once you click on the application twice look in the upper left hand side of your screen for the name 'QuickTime Player'
Step 5. To the right of 'QuickTime Player' click 'File' then 'New Movie Recording'
Step 6. You should now see yourself on your webcam with an option to record. Press the red button to begin your recording.
Step 7. You should now have your recording with an ability to replay your video by clicking the play button again
Step 8. Once you are satisfied with your video go to File>Save
Step 9. Save the title of the video to the proper location and note the location you saved the video too.
