There are multiple different options for filtering information on the Internet for children.
First, you have the option within your browser(s) to filter websites accessible for children. Some helpful tips for that are located below:
Chrome: Google does not have the built in capability to block entire websites however you should be able to block certain content in websites at the following webpage: chrome://settings/content (Copy and Paste this Link) (Hint: Most modern websites use JavaScript so if you block a site from using that; the website should not work or only work partially; you can edit those settings here: chrome://settings/content/javascript) (Copy and Paste this Link)
Edge: Microsoft uses its 'Microsoft Family' tool for website filtering today.

Safari: Apple has a built in feature in Mac that allows you to block websites according to your preferences. See directions for help: https://fpeusa.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/43000744231 see Apple Help: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210387
(Keep in mind for this option that you may block a URL but that does not mean the filter will block the whole website. So for example, just because you blocked www.facebook.com does not mean www.facebook.com/users is blocked.)
Second, there are various software(s) you can install to help lock down your computer from harmful content as well.
